Thermostats manage the temperature of the cooling system of the engine, blocking or opening to allow the coolant to circulate the engine. Helping to ensure the engine warms up quickly on start up and then ensuring the engine temperature stays stable. Thermostats start to open at the rated temperature and should be fully open 15 to 20 degrees F above this temperature.

Power Tech serial numbers are usually located on the control box or outside the enclosure. This depends on the make and model of the generator and when it was made. On generators pre-1999, it could be stamped on the generator end.
